Gerard Cosmetics, previously known as Whitening Lightning, has a whole slew of makeup products from brows, to lips, to face. I've heard ravings about their Lighted Lip Gloss (specifically Nude & Buttercream), but I've personally only tried one item from their full range of products - their creamy, matte lipstick.
They regularly have these 4 lipsticks + Fire Engine in-stock on the website, though they have other colors including ButterCream & Cherry Cordial that are a bit harder to come by.

All Dolled Up - A must-have bright pink reminiscent to MAC's Kelly Yum Yum. I find this shade to lean slightly drier than some of the other lipsticks, but it still has a great, creamy formula. Prime those lips!
Nude - I would say this is more of a brown-based nude, which means it works great on a lot of different skin tones. It pictures much deeper here than it applied (it's nude on me & I'm NC15). Love this mixed with Tequila Sunrise!
1995 - This lipstick, from the Jaclyn Hill collection, is my new go-to color (as you can probably tell). It's a beautiful, rich brown/red shade that's a perfect way to stay safe while making a statement. Definitely brings you back to the 90's, and it's great for the 'Kylie Jenner' lip that everyone is going crazy over right now. I'll have a photo of me wearing this color at the bottom of the post.
Tequila Sunrise - A PERFECT summer lipstick, this peachy-coral color would go best with olive-skinned beauties or those getting tan for the summer (though us pale girls can always rock it too). It definitely leans orange over pink, so it typically will compliment warm skin tones over cool.
Swatches!
Final Thoughts
Bottom line...
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Do I recommend? Yes.
- Packaging - I absolutely LOVE the packaging of these lipsticks. The gold doesn't smudge and provides a luxe finish for the bullet-style tube, similar to MAC. I love seeing these on my vanity or peeking out of my makeup bag - they're some of the flashiest makeup I own, but definitely in more of a classy than ritzy way.
- Formula - this is hands down my favorite matte lipstick formula. No question. I have all kinds of problems with dry lips, and this formula goes on without tugging, and it's incredibly moisturizing & has a slightly moist finish as opposed to being a really dry matte. I would say that Tequila Sunrise & All Dolled Up are the most dry of the three, though I can't vouch for Fire Engine, as I didn't purchase it. Staying power is amazing, through eating & long days at work, and when these do fade, they don't cling to dry skin and look uneven as I find many mattes to do. Pigmentation is amazing!
- Colors - I personally love this range of colors - and there are others out there that I am hunting for, though they're no longer available on the site. 1995 is like no other lipstick I've ever worn, and I love that All Dolled Up is a dupe for Kelly Yum Yum, as I prefer the Gerard Cosmetics formula over MAC at this point *gasp*. I will say, Tequila Sunrise & Nude didn't work the best with my skin tone, though I do generally have a hard time with corals (although I do love them way too much), and I've never managed to find a nude that I am satisfied with. These colors will suit a wide range of skin tones - everyone will be able to find a few colors that suit their look.
- Price - These definitely aren't cheap lipsticks. I purchased with a coupon coupled with a value pack, which made the lipsticks come to $9 each. Alone they sell for $19. Now that I've tried them, I will be repurchasing 1995 for sure because for the formula & because it's one of my HG lipsticks. Keep an eye out for sales - right now they have a 3 lipgloss set for sale for only $22 (usually $24 each), so you can usually justify your purchase because you're getting such a good deal.
