My days normally start the same.
I have an internal alarm clock (and very translucent curtains), which means I usually wake up between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning. I can't even remember the last time I have had to set an alarm to wake up, which I'm perfectly content with. I think most people will agree that waking up on your own is a much happier way to start the day(:

My hometown is a small coastal hideout with less than 20,000 people. I rent an older house right in the middle of town, where I live with my wonderful boyfriend, two great roommates, and my beautiful not-so-little pup Luna. I wake up to the birds in our backyard tree singing, and the occasional lawnmower from a few houses down. I am very blessed to live in a town where I get to wake to songbirds and sunshine, not city traffic or construction work.
I have a job as a barista where I work 5 days a week, from around noon until we close, which is usually around 6 or 7. It can be hard work, but the tips are certainly worth it.
I usually lay around in bed before I go to work. I get (lovingly) made fun of by most of my family and friends for it, but to be honest, I love my bed. I may wake up early, but I don't get out of bed until at least 930 unless my dog demands to be let outside. I do my makeup in bed, do my hair in bed...I do anything I can do in bed. It's not out of laziness, but out of comfort - when I was growing up, I had a tiny room with space for my bed, and a TV. I did everything in bed, then, out of necessity more than preference but what can I say, I built a habit for myself. It's just my comfort zone.
By 10:30, I'm up, dressed and ready for the day. I leave my dog outside on her lead for most of the morning - she loves being out in the sun during the spring, and it makes my morning a bit easier. When I'm all ready to go, I climb BACK into bed for a quick snuggle with the boyfriend. He is working at a bar downtown, so he usually gets in at about 4am. During out work week, we see each other for a little time when he gets home in the wee hours of the morning, and right before I leave for work. It's hard to have such opposite schedules during out work week, but we really appreciate the time that we do have for each other.
After I get my quick dose of Zach out of the way, I pack up Lu and head to my mom's house, where she usually stays while I'm at work. Both of my childhood doggies have passed away, but my mom absolutely loves having Luna in the house during the day (she works from home) and Luna absolutely loves having my mom's big backyard to play in! They keep each other company when they would otherwise be alone, and they're quite good friends now because of it.
I work alone, and my days go by pretty quickly. I'm happy to be at a point in my life that I am making good money, and I usually have a (real) smile on my face while I'm at work. I have gotten to know so many lovely people because of my job that I really can't complain about the long work weeks or hard work when it's thrown my way. My job is flexible and pays well, and I can finally afford to live comfortably and happily, and as 19 year old with a college degree, I know I am very blessed not to be swimming in debt or struggling to pay bills. I am very thankful for what I have and what I have earned for myself.
By the time I am off work, Zach is often already at the bar to serve out his 8 hours. Occasionally I'll go down to see him and grab some dinner, but most nights I end up curled up with a blanket hanging out with my partner in crime, Kate. We've known each other forever (as it usually goes in a small town with one high school), but have just recently become much closer over the past few months. Now I see her almost more that I see my boyfriend! Her dog Lobo (we call him Bobo) and Luna are great friends, most of the time, so Luna waits for her to get here almost more impatiently that I do.
Most nights we're content with a little Orange is the New Black action, and some nights we end up having a impromptu 2-person drinking contest - you just never know with us. Call us boring if you want, but most nights, we're both falling asleep in front of the TV by 11:30, asleep by midnight. I was a night owl in high school, but pertaining to my sleep schedule anyways, I've noticed myself becoming increasingly middle-aged at an alarming rate.
My boyfriend gets home between 2-4 in the morning, and he always wakes me up (per my request). We throw on a VHS from our rather large collection and hang out for an hour or two. It's the most time we get alone in days sometimes, and while it seems like it would upset my sleep schedule, I absolutely love it, just as I absolutely love him.
There you have it. It might not be much, but this is my life. Granted, it's my boring, on-the-grind work week life, but it's still the life I happily lead, none the less. I assure you, once you get past all that I start to sound much more interesting (I hope). Summer is coming, and I can't wait to break my weekly mold and go on the camping trips, hikes and lake adventures that I've been waiting for since last year. I'm ready!
