Hey there all -
This is a pretty exciting post for me - my first nomination for a blog award.
The Liebster Award is an award given to bloggers by other bloggers. It almost reminds me of a chain letter in the fact that once you are nominated, you pass those nominations along to even more bloggers. It's a way to connect with other small blogs (under 1000 followers) & get exposure, while helping other small blogs get the same.

- Nominate 10 other bloggers with less than 1000 followers
- Issue 10 questions to your nominees
- Comment on your nominator's post to let them know you've answered
Sounds like fun, huh?
I was nominated by Kannu Creative at Her Creative Place.
1. What inspired you to start blogging/youtubing?
I've always been quite the makeup junkie, and I'm absolutely enamored with my laptop, so I figured...why not put my obsessions to good use? I love sharing about new products & discoveries I've made, and my blog is an amazing outlet for me to put my extra time/energy into. I was definitely inspired by some of my own favorite bloggers. Right now I'm absolutely obsessed with Katie Snooks with Katie's Beauty Blog (youtube found here!)
2. What is one makeup product you can't live without?
If I was only allowed to wear one product, I would say my Smashbox BB cream in light, simply because most of my favorite products would look quite strange on a bare face, and I love the natural cover & finish this BB leaves on my face.
3. What is one secret that you would like to share with your viewers?
It's important to be real.
I read so many blogs & rummage through countless youtube channels every day...and I see a lot of what I perceive as 'fake'. I see a lot of people acting like they're just living their beautiful, perfect lives with no stress or worry.
Well, I'm not.
I'm real. I love makeup. My room is almost always a disaster. I hate doing the dishes (which reflects poorly on the cleanliness of my kitchen) & chew my nails. Most days I put my makeup on in the car on the way to work.
I won't tell you that my house is always clean or act like I'm always on top of my 'perfect' life - I'm just a girl that wants to see the world, wear nice lipstick, and make good coffee.
4. What are two simple tips you've learned to be a successful blogger/youtuber?
Consistency & Inspiration are the most important part of blogging, in my opinion. These things aren't easy to acheive - I wouldn't say that I have to the degree I expect from myself. Updating regularly, and keeping yourself inspired will only help gain readers, and pass that inspiration on to them!
5. What three sentences can summarize your beautiful blogging/youtubing
I love to buy much too much makeup - and share it with you guys!
I've discovered that my hair-styling skills are sub-par in comparison to most.
My life can be stressful & unstable, and that's okay - Sprouting Moon is my escape from everything.
6. Who is your favorite Hollywood personality when it comes to makeup?
I don't really know about this one...I do really love Mila Kunis & Barbara Palvin. I'm not entirely too involved with the Hollywood scene, I find more inspiration from beauty bloggers & youtubers that I watch.
7. What is your best 5-minute makeup tutorial?
I will actually be releasing a video on this soon after the holidays when I finally receive my new webcam (: Stay tuned!
For the most part, I would focus on light foundation & concealer, mascara &a colored gloss/balm (I love the NYX Butter Gloss in 'Apple Strudel' when I'm in a rush).
If you have a few more minutes, throw on a light neutral eye & a quick layer of eyeliner (go for definition, not drama).
Don't overestimate yourself. Remember that if you try winged eyeliner and destroy one side, you have to wipe off & start over. This is not fun when you are late for work - 0/10, would not recommend.
8. What is more tempting to you, chocolate or ice cream?
Is chocolate ice cream a fair choice?
9. Is it important to you to get in touch with your readers? Why or why not?
Yes, yes, yes. I love getting emails & comments (both on my Facebook & blog) from all you guys, and I am so motivated to finish posts that have been requested by readers! I'm always open to tutorial, review, or general post ideas. Ask away!
10. What is a Liebster Award according to you?
I think a Liebster Award is a sign of accomplishment for all bloggers getting through those hard first years.
I don't get 30,000 readers on the daily, but I appreciate those who follow me as I live my life - whether there are 5 of you or 5,000. I think a Liebster is a award of encouragement, a sign to keep pushing and a reward for all the time I've spent happily pounding away on my keyboard to share something with you all.
I will be updating this post shortly with 10 nominated bloggers & respective questions for them as well (:
